Worldwide Meetup connects locals and travelers together based on their similar interests.  After you sign up, you can create a profile where you can select from a list of interests and add in information about yourself.  Based on where you live, where you’re currently travelling to, or planning to travel to in the future, our site allows you to pre-schedule meetups with like-minded people.  This could be for a dinner, a sightseeing expedition or a walk along the beach.

As a Non-Registered User (Guest) you will still have access to a great amount of resources on Worldwide Meetup.  Please feel free to browse and search through all of our Members' reviews.  However, if you attempt to message or chat with them, then you will be required to be signed in as a Registered Member.  

Please keep in mind that as a Registered Member on this site, you can post reviews and also obtain free message credits for allowing your review to be part of our Worldwide Reviews Database.  (limitations apply, please refer to the Worldwide Reviews section below for details)

Registered Users (Members)

As a Registered Member you receive all of the benefits from our site.  You can message or chat with other Members (please refer to the Messaging & Live Chat Fees for further details), and you will be rewarded with one (1) message credit for providing us with each valid and authentic review that you publish on Worldwide Meetup (limitations apply, please refer to the Worldwide Reviews section below for details).  As a Registered Member you also have the capability to upload pictures, create photo albums, add members into your Friends/Favorites list, and see which Member's have viewed your profile too.

We highly recommend that you complete as much of your profile as possible so that it's easier for other member's to determine if they want to meet or connect with you.  Also, completed profiles are more than likely to be featured on our homepage whereas you would be a "featured member" gaining more popularity.

Registered Members do not have recurring fees and there is absolutely no upgrading either!  Our fees are only for (outgoing) messages or chat sent to other Members (incoming is always free).  Message credits never expire, so if you have message credits and don't use them for months, then you don't have to worry because we won't charge you a monthly fee to retain them.  Our chat packages are time-based and do expire, however, again you won't be charged a monthly fee (as some of our competitors do) to keep you here.  You can come or go as you like and when you want more chat credits then you can purchase them whenever you please.

We have two different types of Registered Members: Regular Members and Ambassadors.

Messages are similar to emails, and are not dependent upon if the recipient is online.  These messages are usually sent when you don't expect a reply to occur immediately, and are usually sent to people that are completely around the world and are between 8 to 12 hours in difference to your own time zone.  

When you post a valid and authentic review upon our site then we will provide one (1) message credit to you to use as you wish (limitations apply, please refer to the Worldwide Reviews section below for details).  

Chat (or Live Chat) is when another Member is online and you can converse between each other immediately and without delay.

Both types of packages can be purchased at the same time depending upon your communication needs.

All incoming messages are free of charge; however, we do take a small fee for any outgoing messages that you send other Members.  

We have different tiers (levels) of messaging or live chat time that you can purchase.  If you have chosen to be an Ambassador for your City or Town then please see your pricing in the below Ambassador Fees.

We are fully aware that at one time or another economic struggles challenge everyoneno matter what country you are from ... or, you are just being a great friend! This is why we have an option for Members to buy gift packages for each other.  When one Member purchases a message or chat package for another Member, then a Gift Card number will be provided and the recipient will be shown this number inside of the notifications icon (the blue globe next to your name), and it will also be on your profile inside of the 'Received Gifts from Friends' section.  Click on the link to accept your Gift Package.  

Gifts are purchased as either a 50 message package or a 7 day chat package.

We at Worldwide Meetup believe that an Ambassador is an integral part of the Worldwide Meetup Community because you have chosen (or will choose) to become an Ambassador for your City or Town.  As an Ambassador we put our trust in you that you are willing to provide other Members on this site with correct details, to the best of your abilities, in relation to any questions that may arise and to direct these members towards a safe environment so that their visit is the best possible experience.  Remember, as an Ambassador you are representing the City / Town, Province / State, and Country where you live!

All Ambassadors (Licensed or Non-Licensed) must pay a flat monthly (recurring) fee for us to host you on the Worldwide Meetup Community, and for doing so we categorize you into the Ambassador's Listings and Licensed Ambassador's will be provided with a special indicator on your profile to show that you are an authorized Tour Guide/Operator within your City or Town.  We provide all Ambassadors with a great discount on message and chat packages (please refer to the Ambassador Rates/Fees for further details) because we believe that you will have to respond to a large amount of questions from Members, more often than regular Registered Members.  

There are two different Ambassador Categories that you can choose: Licensed or Non-Licensed. 

As a Licensed Ambassador, you are either a privately (licensed) Tour Guide or the Owner of a Tour Company which in turn outsources tours to their staff or 3rd Party Tour Operators.  Becoming a Licensed Ambassador, you are required to provide us with your Tour Guide/Operator's License Number to validate that you are approved within your district to provide tours to the public.  Being licensed is dependent upon the Country, State/Province, City or area which you live in and it is solely up to the Ambassador to ensure that they meet the requirements for their district.

A Non-Licensed Ambassador is an individual that is super excited to tell everyone about their city or town and is not required (according to their district's regulations) to be licensed. 

As an Ambassador, you should be open to a large number of Members contacting you for ideas of what to do or see while they are in your area or for the opportunity that you might join them to have a combined experience.  It’s a wonderful way to make new friends as they come in to experience your locale! 

Ambassadors may or may not also offer their time/services for a fee to either show you the area, be a personal driver, and/or arrange tickets to an event for you; this is solely up to the discretion of the Ambassador and fees/costs should be pre-determined between the Ambassador and the Member before any final arrangements or payment is made.  We do not control this aspect for you and we do not take a percentage or fee for any tours that you provide … it is your time so you keep the profits!

If you require a Tour Guide License for your City or Town then the onus is upon you to obtain one.

Ambassadors (Tour Guides / Operators) are the ONLY Members that are charged "monthly".

Recurring Monthly Flat Fees (Credentials for being a Licensed Ambassador / Tour Guide will be requested upon Registration):

At Worldwide Meetup Inc. we believe that “community” is the key to building long lasting relationships and living in a well-liked environment all over the World, which is why we will donate a portion of every country’s contributions made to us back into each country’s most requested charities; we won’t make the decision of where it goes, you will!  This is based on a percentage of our net profit, at the end of each financial year-end.  Based on Google Analytics, we will see the percentage of users on this site by each Country, and will send a mass-poll to everyone worldwide near to the time that it will be distributed.  In this poll we will send you a list of the top 4 international charities, and one blank space for you to add in your own choice; only you as an individual will know who needs funding the most!

The reviews you see or contribute are posted for the rest of the world to see and are from people that wish to briefly share their thoughts on an experience that they have had.  Because we are new, we are constantly growing our Worldwide Reviews database and hope that one day this site will be the largest for globally connecting people with places and experiences that you can all collectively enjoy.  This is an exponentially growing list of reviews and is therefore constantly increasing in size every day.

With each review in this section, we will try our best to have a direct link to their website’s homepage or provide a Reservations Contact so that any bookings or travel plans can be made directly through them.  Businesses, please see the section below to find out how we can help you connect with our Worldwide Meetup Community.  

Here's the bonus!  For every valid and authentic review that you post, in any category, we will give you one (1) message credit as our way of saying 'Thank You' for your contribution.  There is only one catch .. we will limit the amount of message credits that you can receive to 10 per calendar month.  This is a great way to get free message credits every month and save on your purchases.

In brief, we have two options available:

A free business profile with pictures that you upload and that highlight your establishment, your business address, a description of what your business offers, and you will also easily see the reviews that had been posted by the members of our site.

Or, for a yearly fee of only $120, we make all of your contact information viewable for all visitors to our site i.e. website address, links or email address for reservations and/or contacting you, and your phone numbers (local and toll free).  In addition, with this small fee, you will also have the capability to respond to the reviews that our Members had posted online.

We see it this way, if only one or two people on our site provide a review for your business, this means they were physically there and contributed between 25% to 100% of this cost ... So why would you not choose to have all potential customers or guests see all of your contact information?  It's a win-win!

Worldwide Meetup Inc. offers payment services through PayPal and your purchases can be made easily online by using a PayPal Account or valid Credit Card.  If you choose to make a purchase, you will be prompted to login to your PayPal Account or enter your Credit Card details and your account will be charged for this purchase in accordance with the terms disclosed to you at the time of purchase, as well as the general terms for purchases that apply.

If you purchase an auto-recurring periodic subscription (Ambassadors), your PayPal Account or Credit Card will be billed continuously for the subscription until you cancel in accordance with the platform terms.  Payments made will be show on your statement as WorldwideMe.

A currency converter is placed on the Checkout page for you.  Currency rates are based on various publicly available sources and should be used as guidelines only.  Rates are not verified as accurate, and actual rates may vary.  Currency quotes may not be updated on a daily basis.  The information supplied by this application is believed to be accurate, but Worldwide Meetup Inc. does not warrant or guarantee such accuracy.  When using this information for any financial purpose, we advise you to consult a qualified professional to verify the accuracy of the currency rates.  We do not authorize the use of this information for any purpose other than your personal use and you are expressly prohibited from the resale, redistribution, and use of this information for commercial purposes.  When making your purchase by way of PayPal, the amount shown in USD (US Dollars) will be charged to your account.

Online Security:

Your safety while traveling or at home, as well as the security of the information you provide is extremely important to us!  We use an SSL Certificate that uses a SHA-2 Hashing Algorithm with 2048-bit Encryption - the strongest on the market; however, as seen recently with another major site, hacking is possible which is why we only ask for the minimal amount of information to make your online experience with us as helpful and enjoyable to you as possible.  We do not ask for any financial information, telephone numbers, or other high-level details.  

You choose the information that you want to provide on your profile.  As mentioned above, we only ask for a minimal amount of details and hope that you complete all of the fields so that you can enjoy your online experience with others.  Minimally, we will show your first name … if you decide not to add more into your profile, that’s your decision.  However, the more details we have the better matches you will see in relation to our simple match-based system.  When we continue to finish all of our future developments, this will be a huge benefit to you when looking for your travel needs.  Once your profile has been created, go to your Account Settings (found on your profile page) and select what kind of information or notifications you would like to see.

If you are meeting in-person, be careful about sharing personal information, such as your full name, phone number, email and address.  Protect your identity until you are comfortable enough with someone to share it.  Also, leave any personal contact information out of your Worldwide Meetup profile (this information is filtered and blocked from entering it into your profile anyways).

Worldwide Meetup Inc. will never send you an email asking for your username and/or password information.  Any such communication should be reported immediately to Abuse@WorldwideMeetup.com.

Online Purchases:

When making a purchase from Worldwide Meetup Inc., you will be redirected to PayPal, and upon the Checkout page they will direct you either register or log in to your PayPal account.  They will confirm that your browser is running a Secure Socket Layer 3.0 (SSL) or higher, which gives you the maximum possible protection.  When your purchase is in transit and being processed, all of your information is protected by SSL, with an encryption key length of 168 bits - the highest level commercially available.

Never give out financial information such as you social security number, credit card number or bank information … We never will ask for it!

Spam/Scammers:  

There are red flags to watch out for that may indicate you're dealing with a scammer. 

Be aware of anyone who:

- Sends you messages containing links to third-party websites.

- Quickly asks to talk or chat outside of Worldwide Meetup.

- Vanishes mysteriously then reappears under a different name.

- Asks for your address under the guise of sending flowers or gifts.

Report suspicious users (to Abuse@WorldwideMeetup.com or click on the "Report Abuse" button):

Please report anyone who violates our terms of use. 

Examples of terms of use violations include:

- Anyone that looks like they could be under the age of 18 (18 years of age is the minimum requirement).

     - Worldwide Meetup Inc. has no physical method of verification.

- Users sending harassing or offensive messages.

- Users behaving inappropriately before or after meeting in person.

- Fraudulent profiles.

- Spam or solicitation, such as attempts to sell products or services.

Meeting In Person:

First meetings are exciting!

Please always take precautions and follow these basic guidelines to help you stay safe:

- Get to know the other person before meeting them offline.

- Get to know someone through chat before disclosing personal information or meeting in person.  

     - We don't conduct criminal background checks on our users, so it’s up to you to do your own research and remain cautious.

- Always meet in public.

- Meet for the first time in a populated, public place – never in a private or remote location, and never at your home or apartment.

- Tell a friend or family member of your plans.

- Tell them who you are meeting, where you are going, and when you will return.  

- Bring your phone with you.

- Drive yourself to and from the first meeting.

- Be in control of your own ride – even if you take a taxi. Securing your own ride is important.    

     - Even if the person you're meeting volunteers to pick you up, do not get into a vehicle with someone you don’t know.
